With its Barge Terminal, Haven Genk has excellent facilities to take care of the transport and transhipment of containers to and from the surrounding (sea) ports.
Using our barge terminal, we ship containers to and from the nearby sea ports on a daily basis. There are daily sailings to and from Antwerp every week. There is a direct connection to and from Rotterdam with sailings twice a week in both directions. In most terminals we have a permanent arrangement in order to manage our ships efficiently. In this way we can offer goods transport that is both ecological and economical.
Each week there are 16 sailings to and from Antwerp in both directions. Sailings to and from Rotterdam via Antwerp are possible and on request. In this way we offer a highly eco-responsible method of goods transport and attractive terms.

Haven Genk has reach stackers which are equipped for the correct weighing of containers in compliance with the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) regulation. This means we provide a seamless logistics service through our container terminal. This means you can be sure of an accurate weight measurement, in accordance with Belgian and international legislation and are guaranteed that every container is shipped with the correct VGM.
Haven Genk has a large fumigation zone where sea containers can be fumigated before setting sail on a barge to Antwerp. In the case of import containers we can carry out gas measurements, and organise the ventilation of these containers where necessary.
Haven Genk has its own road-transport department, facilitating the arrangement of door-to-door solutions. With our own fleet of container chassis (multifunctional 20- 40 -45ft - tip chassis) we can cover inland transport requirements to suit the customer.
Haven Genk has depot arrangements with several shipping companies. This means that empty containers for export can be picked up or empty import containers can be dropped off at Haven Genk. We also have extra facilities for this task, such as a fully-equipped washing area and repair facilities for containers.
